Golden Wedding Anniversary

Well, I've decided after having nearly a week without rain, I won't be greedy.
SO, my good friends from across The Pond, I've decided I don't want your snow any more. LOL
I'm quite happy with the lack of rain! Not holding out too many hopes for sun, but dry is fine!
It's been a bit busy round here getting ready for the stairlift Alan needs to enable him to tackle the stairs now. We went to Carpet Right in Macclesfield and I chose a the new carpet.
(Wanted something good down before the stairlift went in). The guy in the shop suggested we wait another week, as there was going to be a March sale on and we'd probably save a few quid.
A FEW!!! We went back today and our carpet is going to be almost £500 cheaper!!!
(That's about $850ish)!!
Can't WAIT to get rid of the horrible carpet that's down!

OK, let's get on with posting my card! I've waffled enough. LOL

Look how different the gold looks depending on the light!

I think I used the flash on this one.
Quite pleased with how it turned out.
Nor done any embossing (with powders) for ages!
The background was done in two stages as the stamp wasn't big enough to cover the card all in one go.
The card is A5. (A4 folded in half).
The base card is ivory linen. Matted with Matt gold linen card.
The ribbon concealing the join in the stamped and embossed background is from my stash.
I embossed with Stampendous Detail Gold.
The rose and sentiment are from the gorgeous 'Blooming Marvellous' stamp set by Clearly Besotted Stamps.
The oval frames are from latest acquisition, Spellbinders 'Grand Decorative Ovals One'.
I got mine from CJ Cardcraft in Edgeley, Stockport.

I think I've covered everything
I'm going to enter this into a couple or three challenges..

Hope you enjoyed visitng me today.
(I certainly enjoy your visits).

Take care, back soon with more Peachy goodness!

A greenish 70th!

Hya. How's the weather treating you?
Ours is a bit non-committal as usual. We had 10mins of half hearted snow, then nothing!
No sun, no snow, no nothing! Ah well, that's Britain for ya!! LOL
Onwards and upwards as they say...

I was asked to make a card for a 70th birthday.  Here's what I came up with...
The colours are quite a 'tealish green'. Don't know if you can tell that?
The papers are from Papermania's Capsule Collection.
I used Spellbinder's Labels 20 to shape the bottom of the patterned paper.
The sentiment is by My Creative Time and stamped with Memento Teal Zeal
onto a Spellbinder's Fancy Tags 2.
The oval holding the '70' (cut on my Expression), is a Spellbinder die..'Floral Oval'.
I went over the numbers with Glossy accents.
I now have to make a Golden Wedding card for the same person, so watch this space!
Well, I hope your weekend is going swimmingly up to now and if you have loads of snow...
I'M JEALOUS!!
(Yes I'm crazy).
See you soon! Thanks for dropping in, it's always a pleasure to 'see' you!

It's back to Winter at Cards For Men!

Yep, I'm afraid so. The sun hasn't got it's hat on yet,
so the theme for Challenge #4 this week at Cards For Men is...
'Wintertime'.

With a prize of a $10 gift certificate for one lucky winner!
Now I love making Christmas cards at any time of the year,
so this was no hardship for me!
AND..as we need to keep our cards 'MANLY',
it's easy peazy to do on a Christmas/Winter themed card isn't it!

Our Sponsor this week is Fresh Brewed Designs.

'Hi. I am Heather Dennis. I am a home schooling mother of 2 wonderful children, the wife of 12 years to the love of my life, a Christian and the owner of Fresh Brewed Designs.
I have loved to draw and create ever since I was a child. My daughter has inherited my love of art and recently inspired me to start creating again.
All the images in my shop are hand drawn. I offer a wide range of images from coffee, cute and inspirational. I also love to create custom drawn images, so if you are looking for anything in particular, please feel free to drop me an email.'

Here's my card.
I used the image 'Snowman Hide and Seek'.
This image really tickled me with the snowman frantically 'unmaking' himself to hide! lol
I coloured the image with Copics.
The DP is from a 6x6 pad by MMe called 'Winter Wonderland'.
The circle frames are Spellbinders Nesties and the sentiment is by My Creative Time.
Please join us this week.
The rules are pretty simple and can be found on the Cards For Men Blog
where you will find more inspiration from my ever so talented DT buddies.

Thanks for dropping by and I look forward to seeing what you create.

Hi and welcome to the Peachy Keen/Freckled Fawn Event.
To  celebrate our Cross Promotional Event with the good folks at Freckled Fawn,
Peachy Keen are awarding a $50 Gift Certificate to one lucky commenter.
A winner will be randomly selected from ALL comments on the cross promo posts this week,
so be sure and go back to Days 1 and 2 and leave comments there to increase your chances of winning!

The DT  have generously been given some fabulous bits and bobs by Freckled Fawn to use for this exciting 'marriage'! (I am now a washi tape convert)!!

Front
My two tasty pears are from the stamps set PK-239 'Faceless Fruit'
I even managed to make a bow with the washi tape.
The DP (who's name escapes me) is from a 6"x6" pad, so covered the front of the card completely.
I just added a Peachy little face to the flower in the corner.
Loving those heart shaped clips. Must get more!

Inside
The sentiment on the inside is taken from PK-162 'Fruit sentiments ONE'

Couldn't resist making another.....
Awww bless!
Aren't they CUTE!!
The bears were made using the Cottage Cutz/PK die 'Tear bear'.
The sentiment is again from PK-162 'Fruit sentiments ONE'
The faces are from the set PK-170 'Teddy Bear Assortment'
I coloured the girl teddy's bow with a Copic marker to match.
The Freckled Fawn washi tape is the only pattern on the white CS.
The heart was filled with ruby red Stickles.

Our friends at Freckled Fawn have a give-away of their own in celebration of our combined event, so hop on over to their blog and comment as well.

Hi everyone and welcome to another super duper Peachy Challenge!
Here's the low-down....
'Create a project using Peachy Keen Stamps. The theme....
Anything goes!

Guidelines:
 Design must be new
Link up by 2/13 - 11:59 pm EST 10.59pm CST, 9.01pm PST (that's 5am 14/02 in GB)

You  don't have to use Peachy Keen Stamps for this challenge, but we'd love it if you do!
We'll be awarding "TOP PEACH" to the player who uses their Peachy Keen Stamps this week and our three runner ups will receive a spiffy badge to display on their blog!

Here's my sample
This is a picture frame I've had for years and never used!
(Actually, I have a few of these I bought as a job lot when Woolworths were still trading).
All the stamps I've used are taken from the fantastic new release.

I removed the stock photo from the middle and made my own background by stamping the moon and rocket from PKSC-14 and colouring each image with Copic markers.
I added the rocket on a Spellbinders Nestie frame and sponged it with Memento London Fog.
All colouring was done with Copics.
I put the picture frame back together and adhered the 'characters' to the outside of the glass.
I think this wil lbe going to my little grandson Alfie. He's just 3 years old and I think he'll love it.

Please pay a visit to the Peachy Keen blog and see the amazing samples some of my fabulous DT sisters have created for you. You won't be disappointed!

WAIT!! There's MORE!!

Well that's another week flown past as quick as a flash!!
Where does the time go! It's February already and I'm still getting over Christmas.

Well, to make sure I get up to date, the challenge at Cards For Men this week is.....
'All My Love'.

Our sponsor is the mega talented KENNY K!

I'm sure you're all familiar with the wonderful work of Kenny K's Shop,
but what about the man (and woman) behind those wonderful creations.
Take a look here to see their journey,

We would love you to play along with us.
It's easy, just link your new project on the Cards For Men blog and  you will be in with a chance of winning 5 digis from Kenny K's Store!

I chose 'Love Bug' for my sample card....

It's so cute and not too girly so it's quite suitable for a guy I reckon.
Coloured with Copics as usual and framed by a Spellbinders die.

Please pop on over to the Cards For men blog and see all the other fabulous samples my DT friends have created to inspire you to join us!

Have a wonderful week!

What's black and white and read all over?

Hee Hee..Answer?
My card and this post (I hope)!

Now, I've had LOADS of trouble trying to post comments on all your blogs.
I do apologise, but it wasn't me it was GOOGLE CHROME!!
I've gone back to Firefox and all is now well hopefully.

I will try and get round to posting comments asap now I'm good to go.

OK, here's the black and white part... a card I made for my best mate's daughter's 21st..

The heart is part of a set of dies that I can't remember the name of! Duh.
(I get dies, put them on magnetic sheets then have no clue who's they are!
UPDATE!
My good pal Dizzy Di tells me it's a Nellie Multi frame die! THANKS DI!!

I DO know the butterfly is a Memory Box die called Vivienne! (Only remember because it's my name).
The embossing was done with a  the Sizzix Swiss Dots embossing folder.
Well, I can tell you that Lisa loved her card. Phew!

That's it from me, BUT before you go, I must tell you that there's a new release on it's way from
Peachy Keen
and I PROMISE you, you won't want to miss it!
It WILL blow you away.
Stay in touch for more updates!
