Two day Challenge!!

Well almost! Ha Ha! Kathy, our glorious leader at Peachy Keen, has come up with the idea of a super quick Halloween challenge.
You have until midnight tomorrow night (CST)!

 THE CHALLENGE:
Create a card
• Use a haunted house somehow in your card
• You will need a bat
• A ghost
• Include a Halloween greeting
• you can use die cuts, stamps, punches, images on papers... etc.. anything goes!

Here's what I came up with............

The haunted house was a real challenge as I don't have a stamp of one. So off trawling the web for an image I could use. I travelled that far and wide on Google Images, I haven't a clue where I eventually got this from.
Get it I did though and re-sized it, printed it out, cut round it, cut the windows out and added some lines of Sakura sparkly pen for definition.
I used my gorgeous little PK-M04 Ghost and the larger, Ghost, Bat, Pumpkins and 'Boo' are all stamps from the set  PK-612 Dress Me Ghost.
Coloured with Copics and a touch of purple glitter to highlight the 'Boo'.
The 'Sun/Moon' is a circle Nestability cut out with orange card and shaded with Copics.

Okay Dokay!!!
There's no time to linger. Make your project, hop on over to Peachy Keen and submit your entry via Mr' Linky to be in with the chance of a fabulous prize! (The more entries, the bigger the prize)!!!
The winner will be announced on Tuesday when our next fortnightly challenge takes place.
While you're there, take a look at the other DT members fabulous cards. You'll love 'em!

I hope you can join us for this frantic and fun challenge! I look forward to seeing your creations. Good luck!

Phew!

I've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous!
No time for cards for most of the week, then a big rush today!
(Although, to be fair, the men cards in my last post are old ones put together for ease).

I did do this tonight though. It's for the Creative Card Crew Challenge Blog. The challenge being 'snowflakes'.
I used this card to test out my new Spellbinders labels 4 dies, flourishes and the sentiment stamp by Inkadinkado that I bought on Sunday at Monk's Den.
The snowflakes are punched out with an EK Success punch. That sentiment stamp fits the largest Labels 4 die exactly.

I can feel more coming on!
Back soon!

Design team call

Cards for Men blog is looking for DT members. The closing date is tomorrow the 30th!!!! Arghhh!
(I've only just found this blog)! WHAT a good idea! A whole blog for men's cards!
We all need inspiration for those, don't we!
Anyway, as I've still time before the deadline. I'm compiling some man cards that I've done on this posting, so Donna won't have to trawl through loads of cards or posts to see them.
It's a new blog, so why not go over and help it along? We all need men's cards and more so, the nudge to do 'em!
Here's a selection.......

I do hope she likes them.

Back soon......Viv xx

Mercy's Sketch challenge meets an Anniversary

It's been quite a week for me this week! Nothing happens for months, then it all kicks off at once!
Now it's Harvey's turn! He kept us awake all last night with a sore ear. It came on so quickly!! Poor baby.
We took him straight round to the vet's this morning and she told us that he was prone to waxy ears and as a result, infections!! She cleaned his ear (after a fight), which was by now red and angry looking  and gave us 3 lots of medication for him.
Already he seems a lot happier, whereas I'm shattered!!! Ha Ha
Anyway, all is well in his little world now, which is all that matters.

On to this card I made for my best friend's wedding anniversary.

I've not been idle! I've done some other cards which I can't show or tell you about yet. (Can't WAIT)!
I went to our wonderful friends in Derby on Sunday and had a fabulous day. Pauline was the hostess with the mostest and we got a craft shop trip in too! It's called Monks Den Crafts and is in Leicestershire.
Monday passed in a blur and Monday night/Tuesday morning started feeling ill. I spent all day Tuesday in bed with a raging headache and feeling really sick. (I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting Migraines)!
Fine and Dandy yesterday, which is fortunate as I always go to Mum's on a Wednesday regularly.
I do go other days, but Wednesday's are fixed in tablets of stone!
Today is the first day I've had to spend in my craft room after sorting Harvey out, so I'm going to make at least ONE card today.

Thanks for sticking with me my lovely blogging friends.I've neglected you all shamefully and I apologise. I will try to get to visit you all really really soon.
In the meantime, have a great day! (It IS almost weekend).
Take care.

Here's some I prepared earlier.......

Sound likes something off Blue Peter don't I!
I DID make a couple of cards that I forgot to put on here. I couldn't at the time as they were for a birthday and an anniversary, so I ended up forgetting.

Oh, and of course, THIS card for my beautiful new grand-daughter.

This was made for Issy's birthday. (She's in Greece at the moment, or is it Cyprus). Can't remember.
(That's nowt new)!
I made it while we were on our crafting holiday in Burnham-on-Sea.

This one was for Sandra & Garry's anniversary last week. I used Mercy's sketch for this one , (MTSC43) but 'coz I couldn't show it until Sandra received it, it was a bit late to enter it.
(I still will I think, as there is no time limit on her challenges).

I've not used this stamp in AGES! I love it so but somehow always seem to pass it by when I'm choosing which stamp to use.

All colouring is done with my trusty Copics. So you see, although I've not been able to visit you all and blog properly, I HAVE been doing a BIT, haven't I?
Have a great rest of your day and I'll be back soon with a new card. I'm back in the swing now...barring any more crises!!! LOL
Take care and thank you so much for coming over.

I'm back from where I've been!

I'd tell you where it was if I knew! LOL
Since my grand-daughter was born, I've not been able to get on here or do any card-making properly.
Not because of her, bless her cotton socks, but because I've been needed by different family members constantly.  I'm not complaining though. It's nice to be needed even if your kids are all grown up!

Anyway! I can FINALLY get back to my addiction and the first card off the blocks is my Peachy Keen challenge card.
I LOVED this challenge. It was to make a card using pink and brown! Wonderful!
Here is my sample........

Have I told you how much I love these flowers? No? Well I DO! Ha Ha
There are three in the set (PK-229, Funny Flowers) and I love them ALL.

Coloured of course with Copics.
DSP is from SU.
Grosgrain ribbon and pin was bought from a little craft shop in Street, Somerset, while we were on holiday.
Sentiment brad was from Lakeland, who sadly no longer stock craft stuff.
Now don't forget to pop on over to the Peachy Keen blog and play along. You don't have to have PK stamps to play and you could be in with a chance of winning a super prize. PLUS ... you get to see the other DT members gorgeous cards.
Thanks for stopping by. It's always a pleasure to 'see' you.

Tuesday 6 October 2009

Here she is in person..........but only just!

Aww I spelt her name wrong before. I'd like you all to meet TEIGAN.......

Barry took this after a VERY long day, bless him.
He siad he will try harder to get a better photo next time.
Isn't she beautiful, (What bit you can see of her)!
They are to come home tomorrow but I will wait until Thursday to visit.
Vicki and Barry need time to themselves for at least one day before being descended upon.
It will be so hard, but I have her forever, so one day won't hurt...too much!

Thanks so much for your lovely comments and sharing this happy time with me.

At long last!!!!!!

I can share the news I hinted at in my previous post.
My eldest son and his partner have just been delivered of a baby girl at 6.57pm this evening.
Her name is Tegan and she weighs 7lb 9oz.
I don't have a picture of her yet, as my son is still at the hospital. I will post one just as soon as I get one.
I will be high-tailing it over to the hospital  to see her tomorrow. After having four beautiful grandsons.....I now have my very first grand-daughter!
I'm SOOO happy!

Peachy Keen Challenge #13

I am an idiot!!! Made this sample yesterday evening for the latest Peachy Keen challenge, but didn't pay proper attention to the sketch. I used the wrong one!
The original just called for 3 snowflakes anywhere on the card. The NEW one called for purple, blue and  THEN three snowflakes. DUH!!! I didn't notice my boo boo until I was ready to post it on here!
A bit of quick thinking was required as I'm in a big fat rush (which I will tell you about hopefully, this afternoon).
SO! I sponged some purple onto the already dark blue sky to make it dramatic. Then I added blue to the ground and the snowman. Voila!
It's a bit of a liberty, but it fits the bill. I LOVE this snowman and wasn't about to ditch him! Ha Ha.

I must rush, but I'll be back later hopefully with all the news of our holiday and any other news that happens along.

So why not pop on over to Peachy Keen and see the other DT member's fabulous samples!
