A Royal Wedding Blog Hop!!

Blog Hop is now closed.
Thank you to all of you for making this hop so special!

Today's the day!!!!

We are delighted to bring you a one-off blog hop in honour of William and Kate's wedding.
This is the brain-child of our dear friend Heidi, (DT Sistah at Peachy Keen).
This is the task she set us......
Create a card, scrapbook page, or altered item with the theme...
Wedding
Love
Romance
Royal
Fairy tale
or
Prince/Princess
(Considering I live 'over here', I actually struggled to come up with something)!
I didn't want to go down the red/white/blue route, so had to put my thinking cap on.
Here's what I finally came up with....

William and Kate, a Word Book.

Front cover

Page 1

Page 2

Page 3

Page 4

Page 5

Page 6

It's my first word book and I had no idea really how to decorate it, so kept it simple(ish).
It's a bit rough round the edges, but I've let myself off as it's my first, (and probably my last)! LOL

Stuff:

Wedding cake is a stamped image I had in a drawer!
(Think it's a Magnolia image, but can't be sure).
 Groom Edwin
  'Wedding Carriage'
 Tilda as Bride
'I Do' Wedding Word book is from Funky Hand
Stamped images coloured with Copics
Other images from Heidi and Google
Flowers. pearls and metal corners are all from my stash.

Now if you've arrived at me via Heidi, then you are on the right track. If not, please go back and start there.
There are some fabulous projects to keep you entertained on this special day.
Just in case you get a little lost, here is a list of all the blogs in the hop...

A birthday card for my D-i-L

It's my Daughter -in-Law's birthday today and she wants to get into scrap-booking. I'm glad, 'coz my granddaughter is a little smasher and a scrap book will be wonderful. So, I bought her her first scrap book for her birthday and Pam, my best bud and I, have given her loads of 12x12 papers to start her off.

Here's a photo of Teigan having a 'picnic'. It will make a lovely scrapbook page.

and the card for Vicki.

I coloured my gorgeous image with Copics as per usual! lol
She is called 'Little Rapunzel' and is a digi image by Elisabeth Bell.
You can find her HERE.
I'm still learning to colour hair and although it's far from perfect, I'm quite pleased with it.
The paper is a snippet of the DCWV Linen Closet on a base of Kraft CS.
(That stuff is as rare as hen's teeth 'over here)!!
The die cut circle is a Nestie, but you all knew that didn't you.
The gorgeous pearly swirl is from Peachy Keen! Yep! PK are stocking some AMAZING accessories now.
Go check 'em out HERE! (Click on 'supplies', after you've ogled all the new cool stamps).
The sentiment is from Papermania.
Well, I hope you are having a peaceful and Happy Easter. 'Till next time.......

Two cards for Peachy Keen's 50th challenge!!

It's Peachy Keen's "50th Golden" Challenge today and we want you to
create a card or layout based on the SKETCH & Twist provided.

TWIST: Must use Gold or Metallic accents in your project

We also have the mega talented KRISTAL from Getting Cricky as our guest designer this week.
She is UBER talented and you will love her creations!

  OK, here's the sketch......
Guidelines:
Design must be new
Project must incorporate elements from provided sketch  and contain a metallic accent
Link up before May3th.
Here's my take on the sketch.
I used the gorgeous bunny from PK-254 'Easter Egg Words And Bunnies'
It reminds me of the Lindt Chocolate bunny!
(Should've put a red ribbon round his neck and a little bell)! Ha Ha!
I used gold Mirri card cut with a Nestie for his frame.
The flowers were ready made and ivory coloured, so I sprayed 'em with Stick and Spray,
then dipped 'em in gold Glamour Dust.
Punched the leaves out in Mirri card using a Leone-Em punch.
The sentiment is from PK-263, Springtime Minis.
(It was the perfect size to fit on the gold ribbon).
The base card was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.
(I used the de-bossed side).

Now! I thought this card was MAYBE a little OTT, so decided to make another..........

 Isn't that dragonfly THE cutest!!!!!
She's from the new release, and is from PK-279 Faceless Bugs.

Here's a photo taken when the light was a bit better and from a different angle.....

The colours are truer on the first picture, but you can't see the glimmer on the DP or the gold embossing on Madam Dragonfly in the first one.
To get the wings how I wanted them, I stamped them out in vellum, then cut them in half up the middle.
I glued two tiny tabs to the cut parts, then put a slit in the abdomen of the dragonfly and inserted the tabs.
That way my wings could be further apart and look as if they are beating.

Two totally different takes on the challenge! I enjoyed making these SO much.
Please hop on over to the Peachy Keen Challenge blog for all the deets and to play along for a chance at the fabulous Giveaway,,,,,,,

TWO lucky random winners will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the Peachy Keen Stamps Store to celebrate our 50th challenge!!

Please also give some love to my fantastic DT Sistahs. They work so hard to bring you fantastic projects.
Wishing you Good luck and a Happy Easter!!!

Wow! I made a card!!!

I've been in the doldrums this past two weeks after hearing that I have a 'mass' in my body! It was there a year ago, but wasn't picked up on my CT scan last May!! It was only seen on my latest scan a month ago. I'm not a happy bunny and will be having strong words when I have my next oncology appointment in May!!

BUT!! I have managed to make a card that I love. (After seeing my best bud make one).
I adapted mine a little but the design is basically the same.

The paper is DCWV 'Linen Closet', my new favourite papers. LOVE the richness and the fabulous colours.
The flowers are from the SU! set, 'Delight in Life' and the ribbon is 'Anita's'.
The sentiment was made with a Nestie label die sponged with Color Box 'Blue Lagoon'.
The flowers are lying on an embossed background using SU! 'Lattice' embossing folder that a lovely friend gifted to me. I LOVE it!
I'm entering this card in these challenges....

Crafts and Me Challenges - Ribbon
The Paper Variety  - Use flowers
Amber's Crafts and Stuff - Favourite things

Seeing this card made has really lifted my spirits. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I played with the brand new just released stamp sets  PK-286 'Easter Patch',
PK-441 Cute and Cuddly 1 1/8"   and  PK-284 Spring Bouquet. (Sentiment).
PK Stamps are SO versatile!
Coloured with Copics as per usual! lol
I hopped over to Kim's blog for some ideas for my rabbits' EARS.
I don't have the exact same punch as Kim suggests, but I do have one very similar by Leone Em,
so that had to do!
Thank you Kim for those brilliant instructions!
I added some Glamour Dust (I LOVE that stuff) to the Easter eggs and that's basically that.

Please drop on by the Peachy Keen Challenge blog
and give my fabulous DT Sisters some well deserved love.
You are going to be DEE-Lighted!

(WE also hope you will play along with us 'coz we LOVE to see all your fabulous creations).
