Peachy Keen Challenge #57

Your mission, should you choose to accept it.....

Create a card with the sketch and colour combination provided.
Peachy Keen Stamps are NOT required to participate, but we always love to see what you create with them if you DO have them!

 Guidelines:
Design must be new and you need to submit your entry by 8th August at 11:59 pm CDT
(That's 5.59am on the 9th in English money)

This post will self destruct in 5 seconds......NOT!!! LOL
Sorry, being silly, just playing Mission Impossible.
Dunno why 'coz the PK challenges are anything BUT impossible!!
Not only have the DT pulled out all the stops, we have the amazing Cathryn as our guest designer this week. Please give her a warm welcome and some love of course!
(You could win her candy)!

Here's the sketch for your contemplation......

Here's my take on it.....

Isn't it cute!
All the stamps are from the PK set, PK-266 Duck Dolls.
I coloured Mummy Duck with Copics and the baby was sponged.
The eggs were stamped with Black Memento ink onto blue CS.
The little bows on the coral card at the top, were stamped with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold.
If you look closely, you can see that they have a gold sheen in a certain light.
OK! Please hop on over to the Peachy Keen Blog to see what our most amazing DT has whipped up for you and be sure to play along with us! We LOVE to see what wonderful stuff you create!
AND!! There's THIS amazing prize on offer for one lucky random winner!!! WOW!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Another 40...this time it's a Ruby wedding

I got the format for this from a smashing craft shop in Edgeley, Stockport.
The cut and emboss folder is by Marianne Designs.
The gorgeous matt pearlescent ruby card was from the craft shop and the scrolls at the sides are Nesties.
The base card is also matt pearlescent. I've had that CS for ever!!
I will file this away until such an occasion arises. I won't hold my breath though, 'coz I don't know anyone with a ruby wedding anniversary due! lol

Off for another CT scan in an hour.
Hopefully, the scan will show no change in the size of the enlarged lymph node.
I get the results on the 4th August, so not long to wait.

Have a fabulous week and enjoy the sunshine, if you have any round your way.
We're having some pretty balmy weather here in the North West at the moment.
LOVE rain and wind, but a bit of sun now and again doesn't go amiss does it.

See you tomorrow with another Peachy Keen sketch Challenge!

Now for a 40th birthday!

Why do I feel old all of a sudden???
'Coz my eldest son was 40 yesterday! OUCH!! LOL
In my head, I'm still a teenager! What happened!!
Ah well, maybe one day I'll act my age, not my hat size eh!
Here's the card I made for my 'boy'!....
I got the idea off youtube. LOVE youtube, it's taught me loads!
It's from a tutorial video by Kim Burmeister.

Here it is open with a pound for every year...

I used Kraft card, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and added some SU DP on the base of the wallet.
The '40' was cut on my Expression.
I added a sentiment underneath the notes.
I also made an envelobox out of Kraft coloured Bazzil, 'coz it was a bit bulky for a normal envelope.
I bet this would be good for Christmas gifts too! Hmmm..... now THERE'S a thought!
Enjoy your Sunday!

50th birthday

Hi everyone. Not been able to craft much this past couple of weeks,
due to being so popular with friends and family ! LOL
I'm not complaining though, I'm lucky in that my boys live close enough to be able to come by at almost a moment's notice. I must admit also, that the medication for the Lymphoma is causing a side effect or two as well and I've not felt 100% on a few occasions. Not complaining! I count myself as lucky, I can live with it...literally! Ha Ha!
Anyway, I digress, as usual...
here's the card I made for the nephew of a great pal of mine down in Hampshire.

I CASED THIS amazing card by Theresa Mumba.
I loved creating that scene and hope to do more now I know I can achieve a credible result.
I wish now I had chosen a different stamp set for the foreground. I think it's an overdose, but as it's done and dusted, I'll just have to bear it in mind for future reference.
I cut the '50' with my fabulous Expression (which I'm still scared of, but getting braver, lol).
It's 90% Kraft card and Memento Rich Cocoa for the sponging and stamping.
The lovely sentiment is a stamp by Inkylicious and describes the recipient perfectly.

I'll be back soon with a 40th card I'm in the process of making for my eldest son, who will be 40 on Saturday. OMG!! Where HAVE those years gone!!!
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your visit!

Peachy Keen Challenge#56

It's scary how fast the PK Challenge rolls round!!!
It really doesn't seem two weeks since my last DT card! Where DOES the time go!

OK, we have another fabulous sketch for you this week....

 The rules are simple....

Design must be new
Project must incorporate elements from provided sketch
Link up by 25th July - 11:59 pm CDT (5:59am - 26th July BST)

As with all of our sketch challenges, the basic layout should be there,
but feel free to flip elements & get creative!
Here's my take on the sketch.....

I played with the Cottage Cutz, Tear Kitty.
Isn't she cute! She was designed by Queen Peach, Kathy!
I sat her on a Nellie Snellen multi-frame heart shape. (I got mine from Ebay)
The DP is from the 'First Edition' paper pad, 'Hideaway', by Lauren Jung.
It says paper, but it's heavyweight card..
Half the pad has glittered 'paper' and the other half is double sided 'paper'.
The feature under my Kitty is a piece of ribbon that is the most amazing match for that gorgeous DP.
The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I think.
(I have tons of flowers and can't always remember where I got 'em).
Well, I hope you like my sample card and if you do, you will be gasping with delight at the fabulous samples created by my DT sistahs, I can promise you that!
So pop on over to the Peachy Keen Challenge Blog and check 'em out!!
I do hope you play along with us. Remember, there is ALWAYS a quality prize on offer for one lucky entrant!

This week, the prize is ........

S5-030 Spellbinders Die Shapeabilities Tags Fancy Two

 Whoo Hoo.....

BTW! Have you checked out all the other Supplies in the Peachy Keen store lately?
There are LOADS of fabulous finds all waiting for you to discover them.

An acrylic mini album, my way!!!

Hello everyone!
I was sent amongst other things, (which I will save for a future post),
a mini acrylic album from the Queen Peach Kathy, to play with.
Hmm!!! Talk about a challenge!!! Me! Acrylic! Nah!
I had no idea what to make of it and it intrigued me for weeks.
It finally got the better of me, so I researched how to go about making an album. I visited You tube and DT Sistah,  Emma's tutorial HERE, which helped me no end!!! Thank you Emma and You tube!!

I hope this album speaks for itself and needs no long list of items used.
All the stamps (bar the greeting on the 'ticket'), are from Peachy Keen.
(The tree/branch and clouds are Die-namics from MFT).
All colouring is done with either Copics or sponging.
I hope you like this album as much as I do.

Front page

Pages 1&2

Pages 3&4

Pages 5&6

Pages 7&8

You can find all the stamps, dies and the acrylic album HERE at the Peachy Keen store.

(I've just noticed..... I forgot to add ribbons to the jump rings!!! DOH)!!! LOL

Peachy Keen stamp set winner!!

Hi everyone! I trust you all had a pleasant weekend,
whether celebrating a Holiday, or just enjoying some sunshine.
I did some radical hedge trimming yesterday and I got stabbed in the thumb by a thorn! Ouch!
Our hedges are hawthorn and they are LETHAL!!! Who's daft idea was it to plant hawthorn hedges!!
What was wrong with privet for Heaven's sake! It makes a great hedge and doesn't attack you!
I won't be doing any more 'surgery' for a while, that's for sure! LOL
Onwards and upwards, as the saying goes. (what does that actually mean)?
It's time to pick the winner of my little give-away from last Tuesday and the winner is......

Congratulations Newbie! Please email me with your details by Friday 8th July.
Have a great week everyone (and watch out for thorns)!

A bit of sponging and a reminder!!!!

I made a card today based on a technique that Theresa Momba of (Crafting The Web) uses!
Compared to her fabulous sponged cards, mine is in the infant's class, but I don't mind.
I'll keep at it and I will get somewhere near eventually.
I LOVE sponging, or in actuality, it's more 'brushing'.
I use a set of Dream Weaver stencil type brushes I got at the Make It show in Farnborough earlier this year.
They are softer and less stubby than stencil brushes and a perfect for blending.
Well, here is my attempt at a Theresa Momba style card!!!!!

Theresa's cards are more muted than this.
I just couldn't stop adding bits and had to smack myself in the end!
Don'cha just LOVE that background paper!! It's an adhesive paper pad by K&Company.
It's called Watercolour Bouquet. You just peel off the backing and SLAP! it's stuck on!
Brilliant! (Just make sure you're lined up before you go 'slapping')! LOL
(Not sure I put the greeting in the right place, but it's too late now, it's on, so it stays).
I used three different Memento inks for the 'sponging'.
Summer Sky
Danube Blue
Paris Dusk.
Thanks for the inspiration Theresa!

OK! You don't have long to play along for the chance to win a Peachy Keen Stamp Set!!
Go to my previous post, HERE. and just leave a comment telling me which card you prefer.
Easy!! I will be drawing a winner tomorrow evening, so don't delay!!!

Wishing all my American friends a VERY HAPPY 4th JULY HOLIDAY!!!
