I'm feeling blue!!

Yep! Blue is the word for this card! Ha Ha.

I wanted something fairly plain and simple. LOVE the Embrace Life flower. (It cost me an arm and a leg to get it off Ebay)!!! Coloured with Copic Ciao markers in B00, B02 and B05. Moulded with my trusty modelling tool and siliconed into place on top of the Sizzix Top Note diecut. (Blushed with Bashful Blue). The base card is Bazzil Swiss Dots.

I'll be back tonight with pictures of Mum with her wonderful cards from you lovely people!Jennifer....... Mum says your card has arrived. Just needed yours to arrive to complete the total.

Back later!!

Copic Buzz's first challenge!

I'm a member of Paper Craft Planet and I've joined a new Copic group called Copic Buzz.
Their first challenge is 'Skin tones'.
For my project, I chose 'Daisy', a Sugar Nellie stamp I got from Funky Kits.

I think she's gorgeous and so lovely to colour.
For her skin I used E000, E00 and E02.
For her hair I used Y21,YR 23 and E35
Her jeans were coloured with B24 and B97 and the grass is coloured with YG 67.
The CS is Bazzil and the main card is bright pink, not salmon as it appears on here.
The flowers are Bazzil Bitty Blossoms and I used my Nestie labels 1 to frame her.
I used my Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder and figured out how to cover a bigger are without flattening the dots. Whoo hoo! (I blushed the edges with a SU Bashful Blue ink pad).
The ribbon was gifted to me by Jennifer Meyer, bless her.

Looking forward to the next one now!!
Thanks for dropping by. Have a great weekend!

Please leave me a comment to let me know you've been.

Copic Creations Challenge #6.......Wood

As it says in the heading, the latest challenge from Copic Creations, is to make a card with wood in it!
Well, out came my trusty Whipper Snapper stamp...'Sorry Pup' and away I went!
I hope I didn't keep it TOO plain in my attempt at simple and uncluttered?
I got the border round the large label die thanks to a tip I got off Sandy Hulsart.
She said she had a 'duh' moment and realised that if you draw round the inside of the die, you have a line to follow, to make it just that bit narrower, to allow a small border after it's cut out.
Brilliant Eureka moment Sandy!

The CS is Bazzil and of course, coloured with my much loved Copics.

The sponsor for this challenge is Unity Stamps and they are putting up FOUR sets of stamps!
OH Yessss purleeeez!!!!

Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it you know.

Stampa and Smiles SASSC20

Doesn't Thursday come around so quickly!
Yep! It's time for the Fresh Batch Thursday challenge.

There is no time limit on our challenges, but...there IS a deadline for a chance to win a Stamps and Smiles goodie bag, so please make sure your entry is posted in good time. (Details on the Ffesh Batch blog). You don't have to have to have Stamps and Smiles stamps to play along, so gather up your stash and come and play!

(All one word).

Here's my take on the sketch.....

Cuppy is from the New release set...'Happy Spring'.

Coloured with Copics and 'frosted' with Glamour Dust.
The DP is from a 6" x 6" pad by Studio K. (K & Co.
Mounted on Nestabilities and gold ribbon placed between the embossed lines that I bet you can't see! (They are there, honest)! LOL
The greeting is from the new release....The 'Happy Birthday Cupcake' set.

Passion for Promarkers Challenge week 3

I'm doing well. I've even managed a challenge card for Passion For Promarkers!

The challenge is to use Cinnamon and Pumpkin on your creation.

I was dying to join in with this but didn't have any Promarkers 'till a couple of weeks ago.
Only had me Copics. Well I got the skin tones and a box of markers to see how I get on with them. Well, I'm getting on with them very well I reckon.
I used Cinnamon for her hair, shoes and the little embossed flowers.
The bottom part was embossed with the new Sizzix embossing folder, similar to the Cuttlebug ones.

Well, I reckon that'll do for today. I'd better let me Mojo have a break, or I'll lose it again!

Thanks for dropping in.

Viv xx

Am I in time?....

...for the Copic Creations Challenge. Hope so!
'Coz here's the card I've made for it!
Closing date is today. (Hope they mean midnight)!
The challenge is to colour something as transparent or clear.
This was a bit tricky, 'coz I used Copics and they aren't easy to shade with when you're newish at it, like me. I used a BossCut flourish to represent a vine leaf. You have to use your imagination a bit there!

Here's the stamp I used.....It's called 'Red Wine Cellar' and it's by Stamps Happen. Thought I'd put the stamp on, because if you're like me, you'll be thinking the bottle should be red! Ha Ha! You DID, didn't you!

The sponsor for this week's challenge is Gina K!! She's offered up a fab. clear stamp set.Anyay, thanks once again for your welcome visit. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Viv xxx

Here's Tilda again!

I just had to colour this Tilda again.

Love her to bits, so got stuck in with lilacs and green this time.

Coloured with Copics and layered onto Papermania CS.

The patterned paper is one I had given to me, by Jackie... I think. (I really MUST make a note of who's given me what. It's naughty not to remember).

I used my EK success flourish punch. The first one I had of these, was a duffer.

Luckily, this one is fine.

Satin ribbon from stash and my gorgeous (and dwindling) pearls.

Hope you're all having a super Sunday and please come back soon. Viv xx

Some more friends I made on holiday!!!

Aren't they cute!
(The one on the end reminds me of Harvey) :0)

This is another stamp I bought at Sir Stampalot on the way to Norfolk!
It's a Whipper Snapper stamp called 'Welcome Waggin'.

I've not really had a lot of time to play with all the goodies, (apart from the Tilda card I made), that I brought back with me, as I've still had lots of admin' stuff to do for mum. I think it's nearly all sorted now and I can get back to concentrating on my cards.

I did this for the OCC challenge. To use a border punch on your card.

As you can see, I kept it simple and just used my SU scalloped border punch to jazz up the bottom of the matt.
I plopped a dot of white ink on each scallop to mirror the shine on the noses of the doggies.

The sentiment, (Papermania's Claire Curd signature range), is punched out with my SU oval border punches. The three blue pearls provide balance.
Coloured with Copics, with the background sponged with Tim Holtz distress inks... Broken China and Pine Needles.

Hope you like my new friends! Please leave a comment to let me know. ;0)

SASSC19 with sugar on top!!

Hi everyone! Welcome once again, to the Stamps and Smiles, Fresh Batch Thursday challenge. Every Thursday we post a NEW sketch challenge, we warmly invite you to play along!!

Here's your gorgeous sketch, created by the extremely talented Mercy Kerin. We'd love for you to play along, please use your favorite stamps and supplies (It's great if you do have them of course). :0)

There is no time limit to your entries and if you upload to SCS, please include the keyword "stampsandsmiles". Please post your card using Mr Linky, (underneath the DT sample cards) on the Fresh Batch blog. You will also see the fabulous samples created by our mega talented DT.

On my sample, I've used Cuppy from the stamp set 'Hello Spring'. I think this one is one of my favourites as it's SO versatile!! Cuppy is coloured with Copics and sprinkled with Glamour Dust on her icing to look like sugar. I watermarked the Bazzil CS with a flower from the Happy Spring set. (Just the head of the flower).

I inked with SU's Pretty in Pink. The white panel is embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder (Very similar to the Cuttlebug ones, but these come in pairs). The other one in the set is a Swiss Dots type one. I blushed the edges of the Nestability label die with the SU Pretty In Pink ink. The corners were made with my EK Success photo corner Whale of a Punch. The sentiment is from 'Carl the Cupcake' set.

I got the two sizes by punching the top layer from a corner of my paper, but left a gap at the bottom and side. This gives a smaller version. It's a bit Heath Robinson, but basically works and saves buying another punch!!!

I hope you like the card and will give the challenge a go. We look forward to seeing what you create. Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate your visit a great deal.

Please leave me a comment to let me know you've been by - It makes my day!!

I'm home and I've brought a friend!

At the start of out trip, we called in at Sir Stampalot. What lovely people! They laid on tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits for us and nothing was too much trouble.

I bought quite a few new stamps, which I'll share with you over the coming weeks, but I HAD to do something with this one as soon as possible after getting to the campsite at Caister.

Here she is......Tilda with Ladybug. I just adore her.

(The two toadstools are in a seperate set).

Coloured with Prismacolours and Sansador I cadged off Sandra.
The patterned paper was cadged as well, sorry girls, can't remember who's it was.
The swiss dots CS is mine and the large gems are. (I got them from Sir Stampalot).
My own Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch and brown CS.
The sentiment is from Penny Black and is also Sandra's...I think.

I DID take some stuff. Just not as much as Sandra! Thank heavens she did, as we used nearly everything to varying degrees. Thanks Sandra!!! You did GOOD!!! ;0)

Came home on Friday night after 5 days away with some great friends.
It was a bit cramped, to say the least, but that's only to be expected in a caravan. LOL

We managed very well and we saw a little bit of Norfolk which is SUCH a beautiful county.

On the last day we went to a village called Southwold. It's a gorgeous typical English village and we had brunch in a little place called 'Tilly's Tea room'. Here it is.......

I had the most delicious bacon and mushroom omelette I've ever eaten!!

Here is our waitress....

And here we are!

Here's a photo of the a part of the campsite. This was the restaurant. As you can see, the weather for the most part was wonderful (considering we were on the east coast)!

I have some wonderful photos of the trip on the Norfolk Broads, but will put them in a slideshow. There's loads of'em!

It's great to be back and I look forward to catching up with you all soon.

SASSC18 Flower power!

First of all, I can't thank you all enough for sending your fabulous cards to Mum. She can't get over, people she's never met, sending her cards! Every day there's another and she's delighted.
I'm away on a crafting holiday with six of my fabulous friends until the weekend, but when I get back, I'll take a picture of her with her cards.
You are all such amazing and generous people. Thank you!

On to this weeks Challenge! SASSC18.
Here is this week's sketch that the amazing Mercy Kerin produces so wonderfully....

And here's my take on it...

I'm loving the new release from Stamps and Smiles. On this card, I'm using 'Hello Spring' .

I DO love Miss Daisy, or could she be Miss Sunflower?
She can be anything you want, but today, for me, she's a daisy.
The base card is Bazzil and the 'daisy' is stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Copics.
Mounted with foam pads, onto plain purple CS from my stash.
Three yellow/gold pearls to tie it all together.

We'd love it if you played along. You don't have to have SAS stamps to play and there's no time limit. If you upload to SCS, please use 'SASSC18' in your keywords.
Pop over to the Fresh Batch blog to get all the details and see the wonderful samples by the rest of the amazing DT!

Thanks for dropping in.'See' you when I get back!!!!
