Wow! I made a card!!!

I've been in the doldrums this past two weeks after hearing that I have a 'mass' in my body! It was there a year ago, but wasn't picked up on my CT scan last May!! It was only seen on my latest scan a month ago. I'm not a happy bunny and will be having strong words when I have my next oncology appointment in May!!

BUT!! I have managed to make a card that I love. (After seeing my best bud make one).
I adapted mine a little but the design is basically the same.

The paper is DCWV 'Linen Closet', my new favourite papers. LOVE the richness and the fabulous colours.
The flowers are from the SU! set, 'Delight in Life' and the ribbon is 'Anita's'.
The sentiment was made with a Nestie label die sponged with Color Box 'Blue Lagoon'.
The flowers are lying on an embossed background using SU! 'Lattice' embossing folder that a lovely friend gifted to me. I LOVE it!
I'm entering this card in these challenges....

Crafts and Me Challenges - Ribbon
The Paper Variety  - Use flowers
Amber's Crafts and Stuff - Favourite things

Seeing this card made has really lifted my spirits. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Well done Viv you've certainly come bouncing right back to yourself now which is wonderful. I suppose i'd better get making some more cards if they inspire you.

Love the card. Sorry to here about your medical situation. My prayers are with you and your family. I do know how helpless you feel. My DH had colon ca last yr and my FIL has had 2 tumors removed from his leg 3 months apart, and is now seeing specialist at Roswell. Again prayers for a happy outcome! They do seem to work.

Your card is beautiful indeed, Vivienne! I'm a fan of the Linen Closet paper stack too. The patterns and colors remind me of freshly laundered bed sheets. So comfortable! You did a lovely job on the card and I hope that your trip to the oncologist goes well. I know how that kind of news dampens the spirit so try to remain positive. Thanks for sharing some of your favorite things with us this week at Amber's Crafts and Stuff.

Hugs,
Anne

Viv, I'm a new follower, directed over here from PKS' blog. Your card and situation causes me to pause and reflect. I came online this morning trying to be inspired to make the hardest cards there are to make -- sympathy cards.

You see, my ex-Mother-In-Law -- who loved me like a daughter for many years I was married to her son -- got a shocking diagnosis on Friday just past, metastatic lung cancer that had traveled to her kidneys. Prognosis just as bad as her diagnosis, "2 weeks to 2 months". She took care of visiting family on Friday in the hospital, wrote her obit, discussed funeral arrangements and then slipped into unconsciousness, and died 36 hours later.

Naturally, the family is bereft. They are angry that since Mum had been sick for nearly a year, the diagnosis was missed. But on the other hand, there is much joy! She lived to see her great-granddaughter born in December, when we thought she would not survive whatever was ailing her at Christmastime. There was no possible treatment anyway, and the speed of her passing demonstrates she was ready to go. She lived a full life as a strong, loving woman.

You're obviously full of spunk and life ... and a "mass" is just the next hurdle to conquer. Know that God is in control ... He put you here to inspire with your strength and beauty, and sent you to me to help guide me in this sad moment. You remind me, through Him, that my MIL led a life of love and laughter.

I will be "scrap-lifting" your card for my ex-husband, and for my daughter. Thank you for the inspiration. With {{{loving hugs}}} and prayers for you to stay in the fight and win!
