Well I think it might be coming home....

My Mojo that is! So much so, I'm going to repeat meself!
I liked the card I did in my previous post for the two challenges, Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and Copic Creations, so I've done another!
I thought this Precious Moments stamp could handle pink and red.

Coloured with Copics and backed onto SU DP and red CS.
Ribbon from stash. Sentiment is a stamp by Penny Black inked with Brilliance Moonlight White.
The 'birds' are there 'coz I smudged the image when I stamped it).
Well, I suppose I'd better get off my behind and do something 'wifey'!

'Till next time! xxx

Two for the price of one!

This card is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and..
Copic Creations challenge # 10. (Use red and /or pink and hearts).

My Mojo is still on a bit of a holiday but I think I see it maybe, in the distance! LOL

This is one of my favourite stamps and a sure fire way of getting me going again.
It's by Stampendous and is called 'Sweet Delights'.
I've used SU DP on white linen CS.
Nestabilities Labels 8. My new best friend. These are the same shape as the SU/Sizzix Top Note die, but there are of course, 6 of 'em in a set and you can position them properly 'coz they haven't got middles! Cooooool!
Coloured with Copics, (or there'd be no point in entering the Copic challenge, would there). LOL
The message from another Cupcake clear stamp set. Can't remember the name of it as I've lost the packaging.
The ribbon is from The Craft Fairy.

Well, I'd better go and check up on my little 'boy'...Harvey.
He's had a really red and hot ear on and off for ages. Took him to the vet for his annual check-up in May, but they dismissed it as his ear is so clean.
Well, I'd had enough on Tuesday, so rang them and and got an appointment the same day.
We took him and and bless him, his ear was nice and red and hot for the vet to see that THAT'S not normal!
To cut a long story short, we had to take him back yesterday for investigations. He had to be sedated as he was SO stressed out at being handled by the vet! (He had to be muzzled)!
If you met Harvey, you'd know what a sweet little character he is. Poor little love.
Anyway, they took skin scrapes and blood and swabs from his ear, gave us two lots of tablets for him and they want to see him again tomorrow (Friday).
They have no idea at the moment why he's scratching so much as his coat and skin look immaculate. We will have the results next week. Cost? £290!!!! Good job he's insured! Ha Ha!
He's back home and none the worse for his adventure and he's taking the tablets like sweets!

Here's Harvey'. He's 18 months old and is only little.

Yep! He likes beds!

Thanks for stopping by. It's great to 'see' you!

I got an award from the boss!!!

Look at this!!!! I got this from my glorious leader at Peachy Keen.

I'm so touched. (Yes I know, a lot would say I've been touched for a long time)!
Kathy is a dream 'boss' and SO funny! Her e-mails have me in stitches!

Anyway, THANK YOU Kathy! I will wear my badge with pride.
(On my sidebar, for everyone to see).

I love designing for Peachy Keen .The stamps are so diverse and so fine. You never smudge with them, they cling like billiyo. They need a minimum of cleaning up and store away without a murmur. LOVE 'em!!

See you all again soon! Viv xxx

Peachy Keen Challenge # 10

I don't know what's been going on with me this week, but I just couldn't settle to making any cards.
I sit at my table with all good intentions, but all I did was some image colouring, (and I didn't have a 100% success with that either)!
Is this what losing your mojo feels like? 'Coz if so, I lost mine with bells on last week!
I had to get my head sorted though as it was getting close to Peachy Keen's challenge #10!!

I'm glad too, 'coz it's brought me back to life a bit!
I challenged myself to use one of the PK 'faces' sets. I've been puzzled how to use them as I don't have a Cricut or any Sizzix Bitty Body dies.
I eventually realised that I could put a face on just about anything, so I'm starting with punched flowers!
I used some faces from set PK-490, Everyday character face assortment.

Here's the sketch for Challenge #10

and here's my card........

Those faces really are cute and show expressions so well.
(I coloured the yellow edges of the petals with a Marvey le plume pen).

If you look at the faces from left to right on all three rows, can you see it's telling a little story and it has three phases? ;0)

Can you guess what it is? (There's a clue in the message in big flower).
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully my mojo is back and firing all cylinders, so you will have something to look at when you get here! Ha Ha

Have a wonderful day! Viv xxx

Peachy Keen Challenge #9

This week's challenge over at Peachy Keen is to incorporate, a star, a circle and a square.
I used the stamp set PK - 607a, Jack-in-the-hat.
(That cat is just too cute. Not a bit scary)!

Well if you look closely, there a two circles in the word' Boo', (well, almost circles), the pumpkin is a circle, there are circles in the purple border, (yep, it's purple, not blue, blame me camera)!
The star from the set was stamped onto shrink plastic and made into a charm and there are of course, stars on the BG paper.
The image is stamped onto a square, so there you are, all the shapes are present. Sorted!

The strip of card across the middle is a lovely purple colour, but I just CAN'T get my camera to get the colour right. Grrr

Anyway, play along with us won't you. There is another smashing prize this week.
One lucky winner will get the pick of any stamp in the NEW STAMPS category! Whoo hoo!
Pop on over to the Peachy Keen store and find out about all the offers that are on at the moment and onto the Peachy Keen blog to see the other DT members' fantastic samples.

I must go and look out some stuff with stars on. This challenge has shown me how little I have in that department!

Thanks for coming over! It's lovely to 'see' you as always.

Come back soon won't you! Viv xx

A 'fruitful' birthday

As you can tell, I LOVE this Strawberry set from 'Flourishes', so there was no contest when it came to deciding what to stamp up for my friend Sandra's birthday!
Coloured with my faithful Copics, with SU paper matted onto Bazzil CS.
The edge was create with my Fiskars Threading Water Punch.

Pam and I joined our other Derbyshire friends at Sandra's house yesterday for a wonderful afternoon garden party.
Food and drink in abundance and wonderful company. Brilliant!
(We didn't get home until VERY late).
Thanks for a brilliant day Sandra!

I'll be back later hopefully, with another challenge card, (if I get time).
If not, stop by tomorrow for my next Peachy Keen challenge card. ;0)

Have a super Monday! Viv xx

Passion for Promarkers #12

The challenge on Passion For Promarkers is to use Coca and Rose pink.
I've used my new stamp from Pink Gem Designs and she's called 'Summer Milly'.
Isn't she pretty. She's going to get quite inky I can see!
Coloured with the two challenge colours, Rose pink and Cocoa, plus Cinnamon, Henna and Amethyst.
(Not forgetting the 'grass' in Marsh Green).

I also got 'Winter Milly'. I can see HER getting plenty of ink on her too! LOL
The CS is Bazzil and the DP is from HUGE pad from Papermania.
Framed with my largest Nestabilities Labels 1.
'Branches' from my McGill punch and the flowers are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by on your travels through Blog-land! It's always a pleasure to 'see' you.
Have a great week-end! Viv xxx

One card, two challenges

I've just got this Strawberry stamp from Flourishes..AT LAST!!!
I've been craving this stamps for ages, but kept putting it off due to the cost to the UK.
Bit the bullet and ordered it and it's worth every single penny!
I've ripped it open and got stuck in straight away with two challenges.

The first one is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. Another gorgeous sketch Mercy!

The second one is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge. Represent a season. Well, strawberries come with cream, which equals Wimbledon, which takes place in the SUMMER!
Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

We have sun in today, here in Macclesfield!!! Makes SUCH a change from cloud and rain!

Have a wonderful Tuesday, wherever you are. Viv xxx

Peachy Keen Challenge #8

This week's challenge over at the Peachy Keen Challenge Blog, was ideal for using one of my favourite sets...Say It With Flowers.
I love these flowers. They are as so crisp and fresh.
Coloured as usual with Copics and mounted on Nestability ovals.
The base card is pearlescent with a watered silk effect. Really nice.

You must go on over to the PK challenge blog and join in with our challenge.
There's always a great prize to be won by one lucky entrant.
You don't have to have PK stamps to play along. (It's great if you do though).
While you're there, you will see the fabulous cards created by the other DT members.

Sonia
Lorie
Diane
Kathy the owner of PK (On holiday)

Hope you enjoyed your visit. It's always good to 'see' you.

Have a great day! Viv xxx

MTSC32 gets fruity and an award for me!

I made this following a previous Tuesday Sketch Challenge of Mercy's . (MTSC32).
(Week before last).
It was my first attempt at colouring a pear with my Copics.
(From my Faceless fruit set from Peachy Keen.)
I added the faces from my Potted Happy Flower set.
I'm quite pleased with it except for the sentiment. I hand wrote it and it lets the card down.
I'll put a tag of some description over it and it'll be fine.
I Cuttlebugged the dark green mat punched the border with a friend's MS border punch.
(Gotta get me that punch)!!!!
I shaped the pears and mounted them on the red card with silicone.
Added a few red gems from my stash and a length of ribbon and there you have it!
(I will use sturdier card for the fruit next time, as this card is a bit thin and creases a bit too easily when shaping).

I received this wonderful award from the mega talented Lori!! Yes! ME!

You should see her work!! She has a fabulous blog filled to the brim with delight in every post, so I'm honoured that Lori should think I inspire HER, when actually, it's the other way around!
Thank you SO much Lori.

Have a great week! Viv xxx

Saturday 8 August 2009

I'm so lucky

I have been busy this week with helping my son move into his new home with his partner, (still am). Plus visiting Mum and doing all her jobs.
Gardening (yak) and taxiing Alan to the doctors 3 times this week.
I DID manage two cards! WOW! One was my DT card for Peachy Keen and the other for Mercy's sketch challenge.
I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!!

On a much lighter note, I wanted to show you this fabulous 'Pay it forward' I received from Natalie of Crafting Fun!

I'm thrilled to bits with it because Natalie thought of me in the first place and because it's so perfect! It's the little sister to my tote bag, even the same gorgeous colours and is JUST wonderful!!!
Natalie, I've taken a while putting it on here, but I wanted to give it it's own well deserved space.

Not only this wonderful little surprise package, but the most gorgeous card too! Look....

Isn't it GORGEOUS!!!
Natalie! Thank you SO much for these. I'm absolutely delighted.

Now it's MY turn to 'Pass it forward'.

It started with the movie "Pay it forward". The role model of Haley Joel Osment, gives a great deed to another person. The only condition for the one who receives it, is that he or she has to then promise to do something that matters to others. Someone has now taken this principle further, and made it into a gift. The rules are simple - everyone can join, and only 3 rules have to be fulfilled:

1. You must have your own blog, so that you can spread the message.
2. You must like to make others happy.
3. You must ship your gifts to 3 people within the next 365 days

I'm passing MY 3 gifts forward now to...........

LisaB

Sassy Sue

Barbara

Lisa and Barbara, please e-mail me your address.

These brave ladies, have had, or are having, a traumatic time and I hope by choosing them I can put a smile on their faces for a moment or two.

Thank you Natalie! Viv xxx

Mercy's latest Tuesday Sketch challenge

Mercy Kerin has returned to her Tuesday sketch challenges and I'm so glad, as she produces the most gorgeous sketches to play along with.
(They are SO pretty, that they are almost a digi card in themselves)!

This one shows you what I mean.....
Isn't it gorgeous!

And here's what I made with it.

It's a bit more vibrant that it shows on here. My camera bless it, is good, but it doesn't 'see' colours properly. There's a hint of violet in the card that it won't pick up.

I used my trusty Bazzil CS and backed it with a Joanna Sheene paper that I've had for years and forgot I had.
Ribbon from my stash and two little flowers I found after rummaging, fastened to the card with a Papermania fuzzy brad.
The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp inked with Wild Wasabi by SU.

Can't wait for next week's now Mercy!!! ;0)

Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone and thanks for visiting.

Peachy Keen's gone Batty!

Well actually, I think I've been batty for years. Just ask my friends!!! LOL

I'VE JUST PROVED IT!!!

The challenge was to use a pumpkin, a zig zag and the colour purple.
I FORGOT TO PUT ME ZIG ZAG ON!
Here's the challenge card WITH the zig zag. Duh!

I loved making this card for Peachy Keen, as It gives me the chance to make a Halloween card or two.
(As we don't go in for it much over here...yet, I don't get the chance).
But having my hot little mitts on these fab stamps means I'm going to be doing a good few more!
I've used four stamps on this card.
The pumpkin, bat and sentiment are all one set, PK-629 in the PK store.
The background is a massive stamp, PK - 624, almost A6 in size UK, (A2 US).
I coloured the pumpkin with Copics and decoupaged him.
Can't really tell, but there are 3 layers to him.

Here's some different angles to give you an idea...

I glittered the Pumpkin's mouth and eyes with gold Glamour Dust to represent candlelight, and used normal Glamour Dust on the bat's wings. (Isn't he CUTE)!

Why not pop over the Peachy Keen blog for all the details and see what the other fab DT members have created!
(There's always a prize on offer for one lucky winner too)!

Have fun! Viv xx

Happy anniversary

I made this for my son Danny's 3rd wedding anniversary on Wednesday.

It was mine and DH's Pearl Wedding Anniversary yesterday.
Danny came over Saturday evening and took us out to dinner at our favourite Chinese restaurant and we had a lovely evening.(Sara couldn't make it as she was helping out in her parent's restaurant in Kegworth. (I recommend you pay a visit to 'The Cottage', if your ever in the village. The food is amazing, as it's truly home made from scratch. Not bought in stuff and re-heated).
Then yesterday, two of my other sons, Barry and Ben came round, which made my day. It would have been a full set of all four sons at once, but Paul is still on holiday in France.

All in all, it was a perfect weekend. Still wondering where those 30 years went so quickly!!

Right! Onto the card....

I CASED THIS gorgeous card (made by robertachic), that I found looking for inspiration on SCS.
I don't really know how to 'CASE' so hope I've done it right.

I used a background I found by chance in The Crafter's Kitchen. What an amazing blog!
It has the most beautiful, delicate cards you ever saw!
Jak very generously scatters freebies around her fab blog and that's how I found this gorgeous paper. Take a trip over to her blog, (if you haven't already), you will LOVE it!

I found the sentiment on the web and mixed my fonts up a bit.
Added a bit of white satin ribbon and voila!

So, thank you robertachic and Jak! It's your card really!!
