Cards For Men Challenge #7

Well THAT soon came round, didn't it?  How time flies when you're having fun. 'FUN' being a clue to the theme for this challenge.
Yep, It's 'HUMOUR' and we have been sponsored this week by the fabulous 'SUNSHINE STAMPS'.

Here's a little bit of background......
'Sunshine’s Stamps is the brainchild of Christina {Sunshine} and Rob. Angus Argus was launched into the paper crafting world on June 27th, 2009 and the rest as they say is history!  We have a wide variety of stamps in our inventory - all of which are hand drawn by either Sunshine or Rob.  We love to “sunshine” masculine vehicles and give them personality. We also have our signature image - Sunny Bunny - who will continue to be altered to celebrate all holidays and occasions.  If you have a suggestion for a Sunny Bunny send us an e-mail and we will happily consider it!  Whether it’s a card for your husband, boyfriend, man-cub or daughter, wife etc. we have an image that will suit your crafting needs!
See! Sunshine Stamps are male orientated too! Perfect!

The DT were given their choice of stamp for this challenge and I chose 'Frankie Forklift' for my card. Isn't he cute!

I thought he'd be perfect for a pick-me-up, man style. I made up the sentiment and printed it using my Just Rite alphabet. I coloured Frankie with Copics and papers are from my stash. (Can't remember the names of 'em sorry).
We'd love you to play along with us at Cards For Men and if you win, you get to choose three digi images of your choice. How great is THAT!  While you're over there please take a look at the fabulous cards made by the other brilliant DT members. You won't be disappointed!

Please excuse my short post. I've only just come out of hospital and can't sit at the PC for long yet.

Thanks for calling by, it's always lovely to 'see' you.

Peachy Keen meets Cosmo Cricket!

I bought the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck, 'Garden Variety' purely and simpley 'coz it had all the papers anyone could ever want, to match the Peachy Keen Faceless Veggies which can be found on THIS page in the PK store. (Scroll down a little). I made this little card in a flash, using the peapod paper and stripes and Faceless Veggies 1.  I based it on this week's PK challenge sketch #25. (See previous post).

Sorry about the picture. I only finished it at 7pm and the light is lousy! (I can't wait 'till morning as I have to leave the house very early tomorrow). I may take another picture when I'm able). ;0)

I can't WAIT to try the other papers now. They just look as if they were produced with Peachy Keen in mind. Brilliant! What do you reckon to my first paper flower that everyone is making so beautifully?
I'm quite taken with it all told. I got the technique from HERE.

Well, I've gotta go. I may be missing for a few days, so please be patient with me and keep checking on me.

Peachy Keen Challenge # 25

Welcome to the 25th Peachy Keen challenge! We have another sketch this week. I LOVE it when we have sketches.
I've just got my new stamps from Peachy Keen and I LOVE 'em. There are some of the cutest Easter bunnies and chicks you ever did see and here's one of my favourites, PK-265 'Bunny Dolls'.........

  Isn't he ADORABLE!

Here is the sketch........
(The sketches are so pretty too)!

I had to restrain myself as I could have seriously overdosed with all the cute elements from this set!
I couldn't decide between the Easter basket, the waistcoat, or the carrot, so I left him as nature intended while I decide what to play with next. (I did give him his bow tie to keep him respectable), ha ha. I coloured him with Copics Now 'HE' could also be a 'SHE' of course. That bow tie, could quite easily be just a bow!
I paper pieced mine and popped it up on a foam pad.  I stamped some flowers from the set PK-273 with Brilliance pearlescent lavender ink onto the base card. (I also used that ink to sponge around the bunny). The dotted paper is from the Nursery Baby Boy pad by DCWV. The acrylic and the paper flower are from my stash and the photo tabs are from Papermania's Capsule collection.

We'd love you to play along with us again. I LOVE seeing all your wonderful creations. I get so much inspiration from you all! There is of course a fabulous prize of a $25 gift voucher for one lucky winner, so please pop on over to the Peachy Keen blog for all the details and you will also get to feast your eyes on the fantabulous creations by the other mega talented DT members.  Oh yes! This challenge is going to be judged, so please make sure you enter (using Mr Linky), before April 5th! Good luck!

Finally, a card!

Have I been missed?  I haven't made a card since last week and a lot of my missing mojo has, I think, been due to the state of my craft room! (There is another reason for my lack of mojo, but that's for another day).
I told myself off yesterday and set to getting a bit of order restored. I SWEAR I'm never going to let it get into such a state ever again! My mojo flew straight back in the window and I made this....................
My friends and I have a competition between us each week. I downloaded all the SCS sketches in Adobe and each week we make something with one of the sketches. This week's sketch is taken from SC230.
The papers and embellishments are all by Papermania and that lovely cherry image is a stamp by Peachy Keen. It's 'PK-239, Faceless Fruit'.  I LOVE those cherries! The oval sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. I'm SO pleased to be back crafting. I've missed it so and really hope you haven't all given up on me.

A new week, a new challenge at Cards For Men

Welcome to the latest challenge from Cards For Men.
Challenge number 6 is sponsored by the fabulous....

The prize for this challenge, is three of Roberta's gorgeous images. You can see all her lovely digi images HERE.
The theme is 'Happy Birthday' . Easy Peasy!

Here's my card.........
I elected to use  'Morley Dancing' 'coz I love the image, I love winter cards and there are plenty of little chaps out there who celebrate their birthday on or around Christmas.
I coloured Morley with my Copics and mounted him on circle Nestabilities.
The border was created with  a Martha Stewart punch. I made the polka dot background on the bottom layer of card by using one of my Peachy Keen polka dot stamps. They really are the best stamps for clarity and precision. ( I stamped that background three times and it looks continuous). This one is PK-101.

Just to show the contrast between Winter and Summer, I've made another using THIS delightful image also from Prairie Fairy called 'Summer Fun'..................
What wonderful memories of my boy's childhoods this image re-creates. Happy days.
Please pop on over to the Cards For Men blog and feast your eyes on the cards created by the DT (and a fabulous card from Roberta too). They are a joy to see.

The challenge is open until midnight GMT on the 28th March 2010 and the rules are.......
1. The card must be for a man or a boy
2. You need to follow the theme/sketch that is set.
3. It must be a new card.
Please leave your name and a direct link to your entry, (not just to your blog),  in Mr Linky on the Cards For Men blog.  If Mr Linky is not there for some reason, then leave the details in the comments section.

Peachy Keen Challenge # 24

The challenge this week is a sketch...with a twist....you must use a Peachy Keen stamp. I LOVE a sketch. Saves me using up me one brain cell.

Pam & I went over to our local craft shop in Poynton on Sunday, where I bought some Papermania stuff.
A pad of papers, a box of embellishments and a pack of flowers, called the 'Capsule collection'.
They are all beautiful shades of green. What better project to try them out on, my PK sample card!

Here it is, using just the elements from the Papermania collection..........plus of course, my Peachy Keen stamp(s). I used the PK-273, Petal Daisy from Faceless Flowers and in the centre used PK-560, Dolly Dumplins Face Assortment .

Visit the Peachy Keen blog and have a look at the other DT member's fantastic cards.
They are amazing as always! While you're there, why not join in the fun! Play along with the challenge  and you could bag yourself a super prize! Your choice from one of the brand new 'Spring Stamp Sets'.
now in  the PK shop . They are the cutest and most versatile bunnies and chicks you ever did see! I can't WAIT for mine to arrive!
Well I'm off to try and sort out my wayward sketch picture.

Cards For Men challenge #5.....

.....And what a challenge it WAS!
This week's challenge at Cards For Men, is sponsored by the none other than, the amazingly talented Tracey of.... The Stamping Boutique

(Anyone know how to put a link in a picture, I have no idea how to do it)?

I digress! Donna, our glorious leader and owner of  Donna's Den, has challenged the DT to do PAPER PIECING with our chosen digi image from the Stamping Boutique. 'No problem,' sez you. 'No problem,' sez me!
Errr 'till I came to actually do it. I had to finally use my last remaining brain cell and use it I did!

OK! I chose 'AJ the race car driver'. You can find him HERE

Here's what I came up with.......

I wanted to paper piece the tyres and the chequered flags.
I Googled 'black and white check' and found an amazing wavey image. Then I Googled 'Face on, car tyre' and eventually found the perfect image. Hmmm, now, can't stamp a digi image, so how do I get the patterns onto the flags and wheels? Here's what I did......
I adjusted the dimensions of the images in Publisher then printed them out.
I traced the flags and the wheels on the digi  image with a pencil.
Transferred them to the printed out patterns/images and cut round them.
Sounds dead easy typing it out. (now I know what to do, it IS easy)! LOL
I coloured everything with Copics and added Diamond Glaze to the lights and 'radiator' for shine/glass and some little stars, 'coz AJ IS a star!
The panel of DP is by Provocraft.
I Made a rosette for AJ 'coz he's a winner with me and Bob's your Uncle!
I'm really pleased with this card and I will definately be using this image a LOT.
(I have also entered this card for the ABC Challenge. Which is also paper piecing).

Well, I've just written War and Peace so I'll shut up and recommend you all hop on over to Cards For Men
to take in the fabulous samples by the other uber talented  DT girls and hopefully, join in with the challenge.
*The prize for one lucky winner, is 5 images of your choice,  from The Stamping boutique*
'See' you there!
