PTW offering.

Don't know why, but I thought I'd sent this one to my friend,

but it wasn't, it was the previous one.

I really ought to take more water with it!! LOL

This is my entry for the PTW weekly challenge.

CS - Bazzil

PDSP - Certainly Celery.

Stamp - Tilda with Flowers.

Flower - Forever Flowers.

Ribbon - American Crafts.

Metal sentiment - Lakeland.

I will be away now until Monday evening.
Pam and I are off to Hampshire to visit a dear friend.
We are SO excited, as we are going to the
ART STAMP Show at Newbury on Saturday.
Take care!!!

A cloudy sky!

HaHa! Someone did a fabulous card with a cloud stamp as the background.

I want that stamp!! It's amazing, but.......I can't remember where I saw it!
Boo Hoo. Help please!

In the meantime, I decided to do my own.
I made this card for a dear friend
and knew she wouldn't mind being my guinea pig.

This is one of my favourite Tildas and I love the shabby fence too.

The 'tree' is a leaf punch and Bazzil CS as always.

The cloud is pure guesswork!

Please help me find that background. LOL

Tuesday 22 July 2008

It's Wednesday again!!

Phew! it soon comes round.

I'm off to Mum's today. (I always go on Wednesdays).

The best part of today though, is that it's my eldest son's birthday. He's 37 today!!!!

I agonised over his card as I HATE doing men's cards.

What IS it about them that drives us to distraction??

The cards not the men!!!!LOL

Well I got this gorgeous card wallet from Ikemo on Do Crafts
filled with lovely images and it inspired me!!

Thank you SO much Ikki for the lovely wallet and the images,

(yours are on the way)!

So here is the card-cum-present I made for my son.

There will be money in the first pocket (of course).

I'm quite pleased with it

and shall probably do this for my other sons too now.

In fact...everyone!! LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON!!!

I'm back and there's big candy!!!

OMG!! Go and see the blog candy Ila is offering!!!
A set of the new Magnolia 'Party and Vacation' stamps.
I'd give a gold clock to win that! Well, who wouldn't?? LOL
Get on over and see the fab stamp set on Ila's gorgeous blog.

Well I had a great day with Mum and my dear cousins.
We went out to lunch at a place called the Mersey Farmers..(I think that's what it's called)!LOL
I MUST get a brain!
We got there at about 12:30 and got back to my cousin's house at gone 3:30!!!
I'm so stuffed I don't think I can eat for a week now!!
(I'm going back next week to spend a day crafting with her).
I'm so looking forward to that.

Well it was a long day, but it was lovely and I didn't fall out with Mum either!!! LOL

OCC Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!

Saw the embossing challenge via Jennifer's blog and came up with this.......

The embossing is on the Nestability ovals,

(look closely and you can see it).

Core-dinations CS,

PM flowers,

Ribbon from my stash,

K&Co Brenda Walton DP

Pearls I got from Jennifer.

On a different note, I'm off out today.

Taking Mum to see my cousins Carol and Margaret.

I love visiting with them as we are a close family

and love each other's company.

Carol makes cards too and I'm trying,

slowly but surely to teach her how to navigate round her PC more.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Fabulous blog candy!!!!

Guess what?? Marlene is offering H&S as blog candy!!! OMG!!

Get on over there and check out her GORGEOUS blog! She is SO talented.
You have until 25th July to be in with a chance.
OOH, want it want it want it!!! LOL

My Challenge

Katharina has challenged ladies on her blog to design a card using her sketch with a view to becoming a guest designer.

Well I'm not in THAT league LOL, but liked the sketch and the challenge.

I made this and I'm quite pleased with it on the whole.

It's not a patch on what all you ladies create,

but it's another step on my journey. ;0)

The gorgeous cake image was kindly sent to me by the beautifully talented Jennifer.
I love it!

Blog Candy!!!

The lovely Tina is offering some gorgeous blog candy to celebrate 5000 hits.
Well done Tina. Your blog is great, so it's no surprise it's hit the 5K so quickly.
Pootle on over ladies for your chance to win.
There's two sets up for grabs!!! Thank you Tina!

This is one of the two cards I couldn't show from our crafting day last week,
as the recipient only got it this morning!

The image is from Pam's SU hostess set.

Ribbon is by American Crafts.

Sentiment stamp is Studio G.

Coloured with Marveys.
Bazzil CS.

I haven't been able to make a card for a couple of days due to Harvey having an upset tummy.
(Well he WILL eat everything he comes into contact with)!
He's been on a diet of rice and chicken for two days and he's on the mend now.
We've enrolled him in obedience classes!!! That should prove interesting.
One word from Alan and he does as he likes! (It starts on 5th August for 7 weeks).
I've spoken to the lady who takes the class and she seems to know what she's talking about.
I'm going to make a card or two if it kills me today, so watch this space! LOL

Crafting with friends

I had a brilliant day with fab friends yesterday.

We congregated at mine and started the day off with the obligatory bacon butties.

Pam made most of them! LOLSandra brought some scrummy onion flan

and Jackie brought homebaked onion bread!!

Alan made a curry for tea and by the time we'd finished, we were well and truly STUFFED!!!

When we weren't eating, we made quite a few cards.

I made four.

I can't show you two of them, as the recipients to be visit my blog! ;0)

This one is based on pink Bazzil CS and the patterned and plain papers are Basic Grey's Two Scoops.

The ribbon is by American Crafts. I got it and others from an E-bay seller. Gorgeous stuff!

My trusty Penny Black sentiment stamped with dark brown Chalk Eyes ink.

This one is a Cuddly Buddly stamp. I've used ribbon and photo corners that I received from the very talented and very kind Jennifer. On a base of Bazzil CS, with a Dovecraft (I think) flower and brad.

The stamped sentiment is from a clear set but I can't remember who's it is. Doh!

She was coloured with Crayola pencils and Sansador.

We played until about 8pm and parted tired but happy after a wonderful day.

Blog Candy Alert

Linanna Designs has reached 1,000 hits and is celebrating with some lovely blog candy.

Cupcake card

I did this card with trepidation 'coz it meant cutting into my SU papers!! Shock, horror!
It's for looking at and stroking surely! LOL
I just reversed the paper so I wouldn't have to cut TWO pieces up! Ha Ha
The stamp is from Hero Arts Cupcakes. (The clear set). I THINK it's Hero Arts, I'm really guilty of ripping open new stamps to get at them and flinging the maker's details in the bin!!!
The sentiment is from the set too.
I added a tiny bit of ribbon to the tag to take the plainness off it.
Going to do the PTW challenge card now. It looks do-able for me! LOL

Tuesday 8 July 2008

A productive Day!

Pam came over yesterday and we had a great old time.

I managed to make three cards which, considering all the cups of tea,

the bacon butties, curry hubby made for us and trip to Craft Central in Congleton, was pretty good going.

This is my favourite. It uses the stamp set and papers I got from Jennifer. (I will end up wearing it out)!!! The CS is Bazzil naturally. I LOVE this card. :0)

This one is another for the Friday Sketchers latest challenge.......No 9

It's slightly larger than the previous one. 6" x 6" against a 5"x 5"
I wanted to play with my newest Magnolia stamp, the fence.
Not 100% sure I should have used both these stamps together without masking,
but hey ho, I did. What do you think?
The papers are from the same pad as the other challenge card.
Each element is the same. It's just a change of colourway.
Oh! Except for the sentiment. That's a Hero Arts stamp.

The next one is a bit of whimsy..........

I did this at the Derby Dabbler's stamping day last Sunday.
The theme was Children, babies or teens.

I HAD to use my adorable Whipper Snapper li'l Ballerina. I used my Crop-a-dile to make the holes and just threaded two oddments of ribbon through them. I stamped the sentiment with Brilliance ink .... 'Pearlescent Orchid'. The sentiment is by Penny Black. The card is A6 size. 10.5cm x 14cm.

This one is a 'just felt like it' card. LOL

I got some Studio G little sroll stamps at Craft Central and wanted to try them out. The sentiments are from a boxed set that I forgot I had!!! They are from Hero Arts. The DP is from the K & Co Hopscotch paper pad. The ribbon through the eyelets is a bit of a feature I just kind of 'did'!

Friday Sketcher's Challenge card

It's great to be back in challenge mode!

Love Harvey, but Oh Boy! is he hard work sometimes.

He's taken over my life!!!! LOL

At least he's almost there with house training now. *phew*!

Right! Here's my offering for the Friday Sketcher's challenge.

This is my latest Tilda and one of my favourites. Coloured with Marveys.
I used a square lemon 5"x 5" (12cm x 12cm) card from The Works.
The papers are all from one pad that I bought at the NEC years ago.
The flower is from one of my tins of Forever Flowers.
The photo thingy top right, is from one of the Paper Mania sets.

Blog Candy Alert!!!

Ila is offering some cracking blog candy to introduce
the new release from High Hopes rubber stamps .
You can see it on her fabulous blog.
I LOVE the card she's made with the stamps.
Get on over there and check it out! It's GREAT!!!
VERY nautical. ;0)

Saturday 5 July 2008

Hubby's blog!

Alan has finally created a blog (with a little help from me),
to record, (supposedly) his adventures on his scooter.
It's called 'My bike & Me' and it's VERY new.
His first post is a comment or three about Wimbledon.
(He's a lot like Victor Meldrew).
Anyway, I thought there may be a hubby or son or Dad out there,
who might be interested, once it gets going. ;0)

Stamp Something challenge

'Shimmer shine, shimmer, glitter or dazzle.....

I looked through my collection and thought I'd share the card I made for my son's marriage.

I hope it qualifies for the latest Stamp Something challenge.

I made the oval using my Sizzix oval die on silver mirri card.

The flowers and leaves are punched from a daisy and birch leaf punch.

The paper used to punch the shapes is 'virtual pearl.

It's perfect for this type of card as the shimmer on it is very subtle.

I put Diamond dots in the center of the flowers.

The little book is another Sizzix die. The Open Book.

I cut it out of vellum and the silver mirri card.

The initials are peel-off letters.

The wording was done on my PC.

The little piece of satin ribbon and the white paper rose, helped to hide the middle of the book, where the layers were stuck together. ;0)

This is the box I made to house the card.......

A bit different from what I do now eh. :0)

Blog Candy Alert

Claudia has almost reached 170,000 hits!!!! OMG!!!!
It's no surprise really though, is it?
Her blog and her creations are so beautiful and not to be missed!
Get along there if you haven't already!

Wednesday 2 July 2008

Made at the Derby Dabbler's stamping day

The theme was baby, children and teens.

I got the Teddy stamp at a show.

It's one of those dense foam stamps, so I've no idea what make it is.

He's lovely and scruffy!

The cardstock is, in fact, from a set of patterned cards by DCWV.

Well, that's it for now folks.

It's Wednesday, the day I visit Mum.

Catch you all again soon!

Another two.

This is an image folder I made for a friend for her birthday.
It's lemon Bazzil CS.
I cut out Tilda and made some grass by hacking away at a piece of green paper.
Added some mulberry flowers on drawn stems.
The bluebirds are a from a Penny Black stamp.
(There are three birds on the stamp).
Green Dovecraft grosgrain ribbon.
This is made using the SU set I got from Jennifer.
Bless her, I can't thank her enough.
The background paper (and pearl) is from Jennifer too.
The sentiment stamp is from Penny Black.

Here's a job lot of cards I keep forgetting to upload!

This one is done using the PM paper pad. Can't remember the name of it off hand.
Mounted on Bazzil and inked round the edges with Fluid Chalk Cat's Eyes stacking ink pads, by Color Box.
Stamp is by Penny Black.
Mink satin ribbon from my stash across the bottom.

The background for this one uses the Versamark/chalk technique.
The background stamp is by Impression Obsessions.
Mounted onto Bazzil again.
The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts and the flowers are from SU sympathy set.
Lime green ribbon from Dovecraft.
Not got the Circle Nesties (yet) so used my circle punch.

This one uses half of my Basic Grey paper cut around the flowers

then stuck to the bottom of the CS.

The SU flower stamp was cut with the oval Nestie.

Stamped sentiment by Hero Arts.

The other half of the paper!!

I just trimmed the jagged edge left by cutting around the flowers.
The lovely Tilda and a Hydrangea from my tin of Forever Flowers.

Have a great day!!!!

Tuesday 1 July 2008

Tuesday and it's HOT!!

Wow!! It's finally summer!!! He sky is bright blue and it's VERY hot! *phew*!
UK doesn't usually DO hot! LOL

Mum asked me, as usual, at the last minute, to make an anniversary card for a lad she knew when he was just a boy.

He'd drop in on Mum while he was visiting his grandmother.

She can't remember his wife's name, so I've had to make it an 'open' card.

It's done as an A5 card (8.5" x 11" folden in half) on white hammered CS.

I've matted and layered the sentiment (printed on the PC) and chalked both it and the main card to soften the edges.

I punched and shaped the hollyhock flowers using two sizes of the same punch.

The stamen is from a star punch and the leaves were punched on a Woodware lever punch.

It's a take on one I did last year in burgundy.

(The colour not the province)! LOL
