Have a 'hoot'

Hya friends!
How's the snow at your neck of the woods?
Back to the usual here, melting and slushy. Yak!
Loved it while it was coming down though. I'm a sucker for snow.

OK, a few days ago, I made this card for my DH's nephew....
It's a blatant CASE of a fabulous card by Karin Akesdotter.
(She's one of my heroines).

The background is done with a Hero Arts massive wooden stamp.
I cut a hole and then inked up some pale blue card to make a night sky.
I reverse masked the 'moon'  and sponged it with Memento Luxe 'Wedding dress'.
That's white to you and me. LOL
The owl is a digi from Dawn's Digis.
I was daft 'coz I forgot to mount the wood-grain card onto foam pads. so it's a bit flat really.
Ah well. more haste, less speed as my mum used to say.
I did the speech bubble on my Cameo.
The little branch is a die from Paper Smooches
(Oh and I added the 'feathers' to his chest with a Sharpie pen).
the 'stars' were made with a white gel pen.
The base card is Kraft.
Well, Thanks for your visit. It's lovely to 'see' you.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and don't fall over in the ice and snow!
Take care!

Getting even pinkier!

I swear this wasn't pink on purpose!
I saw the gorgeous cut-out card in the Silhouette store and had to have it.
99cents or 60pence for a lovely design is a bargain in my eyes!

Well, I just automatically grabbed some pink cardstock to add contrast!
Why didn't I pick orange, blue, green?
I reckon Christine, of In The Pink fame has secretly brainwashed me! LOL
And here's the proof!

Isn't that cut out card gorgeous!
The image is from Pink Petticoat.
The little sentiment circle is from Craftwork Cards
The ribbon is from my stash and the blingy gem thing on the knot is from Ebay.

Right! I hope this little card has whetted your appetite to join us at In The Pink for the latest challenge which theme is this week,,,,
PINK AND PEARLY.
(Do join us, the prizes are amazing).

Okay dokay, I'm orf to try and make something BLUE!!! LOL

(Just a reminder too, The new season of CSAYL starts 0n 5th Feb)!!

Hi friends!

Whoop whoop! I'm SOO lucky to be on this fabulous team!

Let's get this party started!
It's a new challenge today and the theme is
'Pink and Pearly'
(No prizes for guessing you need to add something 'pearly' to your predominantly pink card).
Here's what I came up with..

Well I don't think you can miss the pearls! LOL
(I coloured 'em with a pink Copic).
The step card was made on my Cameo
and I used some more of that gorgeous crackle paper from LOTV.
The flower stamp, (coloured with Copics), is supposed to be violets, but hey, I won't tell if you don't.
One lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a £10 voucher from.....
http://www.ribbongirl.co.uk/catalog/
Who wouldn't love the chance to spend a tenner there eh!

A letter for ME?

Hi everyone!
Are you freezing? I am! Brrr
Don't know how I'd get on in the northern states of the USA!!!
It's VERY Siberia-like there at the moment!

We've had the usual dusting of snow, now you see it, now you don't!
It's rubbish.

What to do? Play in your craft space/room.
That's precisely what I did and I made this.....

I've gone all pink again! I don't even mean to, it just knda happens all by itself!
At least I have a Bluebird. LOL
The image is a digi from Sugar Nellie called 'Picket Post'.
Coloured with Copics (must practice more on fur) on a Standard Spellbinder's circle.
Then I used foam pads on the 'Heartfelt' DP from an 8"x8" pad
by LOTV and Raspberry Road Designs, framed with flowers from my stash.
The sentiment and tiny heart is from Clearly Besotted's 'Design a Tree' stamp set.

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges.....
Sugar Nellie's challenge  #120 'Anything Goes'
and
Freshly made sketches#169
Here's the sketch...

I tweeked the orientation a little.

Well, I have to get ready to go to my hospital appointment ,
so I'd better stir my stumps and hopefully, be back shortly with another offering.

Birthday bear

Hello friends. It's good to see you.
Macclesfield is going to grind to a halt 'coz we've got a quarter of an inch of snow!!
WOW! THAT much! LOL
My town is rubbish for snow. We are so close to the Pennines that they must shelter us from it.
If you have PROPER snow, keep safe and keep warm!

Good job I have a craft room to bolt to!
Here's my latest card that I made for my friend Maggie who left for NI yesterday.

I had made another card, hated it, so swiftly made this one.
I didn't have much time to make it after slaving over the rubbish one, so it had to be CAS.

The image is from LOTV's Art Pad #23 'James and Jenny Bear'
These pads are just the ticket when you need a card in a hurry.
Pre-coloured and ready to go!

I thought I'd enter meself into some challenges. It's been a while since I did.

New home

It's almost time to wish two very good friends goodbye, as they leave for Northern Ireland on Tuesday to be nearer family. I'm going to miss them loads! *Sad face*

I cased This one that I stumbled upon on Pinterest.

So simple. It's a Silhouette cut file.
I flipped it horizontally and added two clouds I cut with  MFT dies.
I added Glamour Dust to the heart and to the edge of the clouds to denote a silver lining.
The sentiment is from a discontinued stamp line by Market Street Stamps.
The base card is SU's Crumb Cake and the top layer is plain white cardstock.

I love this  SVG file and plan on using it for many more occasions.

Thanks for dropping in. I will be back shortly with an anniversary card .

Happy news!

Hi friends!
Long time no post.
Sorry, I've been quite poorly with a rotten chest infection.
Christmas and New Year were both non-events to all intents and purposes.
Then once all the Christmas cards were taken down, and the prospect of not making any for months, made me lose me mojo a tad!

WELL NO MORE!!!

I've been invited to join the Christmas Stamping All Year Long Challenge blog!!
(CSAYL for short).
I'm totally delighted 'coz it means I'll be able to make Christmas cards all year! YEAH!!!
The new year at CSAYL starts officially on 6th February,
 so mark your calendars!
Here's a brand new card just for the heck of it, to get me into the swing of it!
It's not a challenge card, just something I whipped up.

I cut the stitched circle out with the largest SSS stitched circle die from the set
The hill with the trees is a die from Clearly Besotted.
I coloured them a tad with a Copic marker.
The 'sky' in the background is done with Distress inks.
The snowman and sentiment are from My Favourite Things stamp set, 'Christmas Cuteness'.
Snowflakes doused in Glamour dust (also added to the Santa hat and trees).
The trees are a Magnolia stamp that I stamped then scanned, before cutting them out on my Silhouette Cameo.
(This gives me infinite sizes of tree when needed).

Phew! I feel better now I've got that one under my belt.

I'll be back soon with some more cards.
