Wedding card

Firstly, I would like to wish everyone who visits my little blog,
a VERY Happy New Year!!!!

You are all special to me and I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to come on over.
Leaving a comment makes my day and is food and drink to me.

So here's to health wealth and happiness to you all!!!!

This is for my youngest son's wedding day on the 2nd January.

The theme is black, white and pink.
(I might change the white pearls for pink ones).
The CS is matt silver and looks grey IRL.
The frame is a template I made from the last of the
original die-cuts I got off my lovely US friend, Jennifer.
I drew round it and now have a passable frame I can use. I did the faux stitching with my black Marvey pen.
The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.
I didn't have an appropriate stamp for the sentiment,
so printed it onto white linen CS after measuring the frame.
Held it up to the light with the frame behind to center it.

PLEEEEEZE Can anyone tell me how to get my hands on this die???I remember reading somewhere that it was exclusive to SU, but can't see it anywhere. (It's called 'Top Note' and is exclusive to SU). Only in the States though, awwww. I'll be your friend for life if you lead me to buying one.

*pleading expression on mush* :0)

All carded out for now!

Well, it's been a while since I was able to put anything on here.
I've been busy, (as have we all), with the lead-up to Christmas and Doing things for Mum etc.
I DID manage to make a few more cards though betwixt and between other stuff.
I will be sad to put my glitter away, I must admit.
I AM determined though, that NEXT year,
I will NOT end up rushing to get them posted at the end of December.
I WILL be organised next time.....yeah right! LOL
Here you are then, my last ones for 2008...........

Wishing all you wonderful ladies out there in Blog land

Thank you for supporting my blog, your comments and your kindness.

I finally made it!!

No...not a card LOL!
I can now officially apply for my Senior Citizen rail card and my bus pass!!!!
I've not been able to make any cards all week, as I've had to be at Mum's every day.
I'm off to bed now as a 60 year old!!!!! OMG!!!!
I don't feel any older than 20 something!!!

Mum is 90 tomorrow (12th). She's having a 'bit of a do' at the Church Hall and little does she know, I've had the most exquisite cake made for her by my lovely friend, Sandra, (Icelady).
It's going to be a challenge getting it to her, but get it to her , I will!
Here's the cake Sandra made for Mum.....

Isn't it fabulous!!! Sandra also made a beautiful cake for me on Sunday. It was Jackie's Stampin' Up party and there was 13 of us. What I didn't know was, that it was to be a joint birthday party. I got an even bigger surprise when I opened the door at Jackie's, to find another friend from London (Val) on the doorstep!!! What a wonderful surprise!

Issy, (my mentor when it comes to punched flower cards), was staying with me for the weekend and Pam and I took her to Derby for the SU party.
The day was huge success all round and I can't remember when I've spent a happier day. Here's the birthday cake Sandra made for me.......

All the flowers on both cakes are handmade from sugar paste by Sandra. Isn't she CLEVER!!! :0) I've got loads of cards and pressies to open in the morning, so I'd better get to bed hadn't I?

(I'll hopefully be able to come on later at some point). :0) Viv xx

I'm delighted...

To receive this award! Thank you so much Ikki.

The wording for this sweet award..................
This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
I hereby pass this on to everyone who has been kind enough to leave a comment on my cards.
It's your comments that keep me blogging.
They are food and drink to me and I appreciate every one of them.

Hurry for ILA's Blog Candy!!!!!!

Been so busy, forgot to link ILA's blog candy on here.
You'll need to hurry as it ends on Thursday!!
She's celebration 100,000 hits! (Not a bit surprised, her stuff is amazing)!
here's some fabulous candy up for grabs, so hurry over if you haven't already.
High Hopes and Magnolia have contributed to the candy,
so you know it'll have the 'WOW' factor.
(Just like Ila's blog does).

Crisis over...for now.

I've had a stressful few days of late.
Mum had a fall on Saturday morning.
She rang me, (from the floor) telling me she'd fallen and could I come.
I'd just stepped out of the shower. Told her I would be there as soon as possible
and had she pressed her pendant to alert the Warden. ' No' she says!! Arghhhh!!
I told her to do that straight away while I was getting there.
To cut a long story short, I was there in 20mins.
The Warden was there and had rung for an ambulance.
It took the ambulance over an hour to get to her
as they were inundated with calls.
I think it was due to the thick fog and ice causing falls and RTAs.
Anyway, she was admitted to the observation ward overnight
and deemed fit to return home the following day.
Luckily, she'd just bruised herself and not broken anything.
She's made of tough stuff my mother!! She's 90 next week!!!!

I did manage to make a couple of cards when I had the odd half hour.

I'm entering this one in the High Hopes challenge. You have to use metal on your creation.
I've used a brass corner and a metal brad.
(Sentiment at the bottom of the card).

SU DP used on this one with SU's Lovely As A Tree stamped onto white card and given the 'glow' treatment with SU Rose Red. Double satin ribbon from stash and the Happy Christmas brad from Making Memories. Tree glittered with Glamour dust. (Love that stuff).

Coloured this reindeer ages ago and stuck him in a drawer.
I put Diamond Glaze on his nose to make it shiny but you can't tell on here.
The Greeting is made out of board and I think, a Papermania one.
( I took it out of the packet an threw it away).
The CS and DP is from Stampin' Up and organza ribbon from my stash.
Hope you like them ...........
