Peachy Keen Challenge #53

Yeah!! It's that time again!
Are you up for it?

THE CHALLENGE
Create a card or layout based on the SKETCH and TWIST provided

Guidelines:
Design must be new
Peachy Keen stamps are NOT essential, but if you've got 'em, flaunt 'em.
Project must incorporate elements from provided sketch and the twist? Use SPONGING!

As with all of our sketch challenges, the basic layout should be there,
but feel free to flip elements and get creative!

Here's your sketch....

Here's my sample.

I used my fabulous and oh so funny set, SY-902. Hillbilly Holler set 3.
I DO love the Steve Yarborough sets. They are a joy to colour!
The sentiment is from the same set and I just manipulated the stamp to get just the flies on the clouds.
The DP is DCWV 'The Green Stack'.
Coloured with Copics and I sponged around the DP, the clouds and the image after taking it out of the Nestie Circle. (I forgot to do it and only remembered after I'd stuck it on the loopy circle)!

One lucky winner, chosen at random, will receive a Henny Penny stamp
and a Simple Barn and Silo Set!

I'm just rubbish at remembering Birthdays!!!

One of my fabulous friends had her birthday 3 days before I got this made!!!
WHY can't I organise myself to at least  look at a calendar or diary!!
I always have been rubbish at getting cards out on time.
I call myself 'last minute.com'!

I've missed another birthday that I shouldn't have and it will take nearly a week for the card to get to her!! ARGHH!

OK, I finally got THIS one sent, so I can show it now.....

The DP is..  'Sweet Owl'.
The strip was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.. 'Dots and Ribbon'.
The swirl is made using a Quickutz die, 'flourish'.
The flowers are from my stash and the greeting is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.. 'Fancy Phrases'.

Have a fabulous week won't you!!

This should be a breeze for all you mega stars out there!

Here is my DT sample in case you might need a little bit of inspiration.
(You usually don't though)!

I used my brand new Cottage Cutz die designed by our very own Queen Peach, Kathy.
I coloured it with Copics and matted it onto DCWV DP with foam pads.
A bit of hessian and the prettiest buttons you ever did see, complete the picture.
Please make your way over to the Peachy Keen Blog for all the details and to feast your eyes on the other amazing samples by my brilliant DT sistahs!!.

A bleacher and a birthday!

Well, actually, it's a bleached, but it didn't sound very clever.
I made this card while I was staying with my fabulous friends in Derby a couple of weekends ago.
Our hostess was doing the bleach technique and myself and my best mate both said,
'Eyuuww, don't fancy THAT'!
Well! When we saw the results, we couldn't wait to have a bash!
Here is what I made......

Needless to say, I'm a convert!
The image is from a stamp set by Stampendous! called 'Daisy Thanks'.
The outline is made with a SU Tulip embossing folder.
The bottom border is made with a MS punch.
The flowers are cut out and mounted on glue dots for dimension.

My next card is one I made for my grandson's 21st.

This is quite a bit outside my comfort zone,
but knew what I wanted when I saw the ledger pattern on the Papermania Kraft card.
I wanted to play a bit more with my Cricut and my SCAL program. The 'Luke' inside the 21 came about with me moving the 'Luke' around on my mat to find the best place for cutting. It moved across the bottom of the '2' in the process. I immediately liked the effect and I kept it there!

I welded 'Grandson' and cut that and the 2 & 1 out. Placed the '21' onto a Nestie circle matted with matt gold mirri board, then cut out a key with the same matt mirri board. The edge is made with a SU punch.

Well, tomorrow I'm off to the Happy Stampers show at Port Sunlight Merseyside.
(MORE money flying out of my purse)!!! Ha Ha! I love this show.
It's got a very friendly atmosphere about it and the little village is both famous and beautiful.
Well, I shall stop my ramblings and head off to bed.
Have a wonderful weekend!
